A Big, Lazy Decision

Due to my laziness and RL going “LOOK AT ME!”, I have decided to blog makeup only.

Yeah. Shock. Here’s the thing: I think more makeup blogs are needed anyway.  Watch me, as I bullshit my way through this next paragraph full of reasons why:

Number one, a lot of users still don’t know how to use tattoo makeup in Second Life.  They have no freaking idea how to approach this, much less that it’s even possible.  The other day I talked to someone who went, “omigod you mean I can LAYER shit to make my own look?” and I was like, yes you can.  Think of how many people have never attempted this before.  You don’t have to do something like what I’ve taken a photo of in this blog entry, but coordinating your own look with, say, a simple eyeshadow and some eyeliner can make you stand out–just that!

So imagine what you can do if you wanted to get really creative.

Number two, many don’t understand how makeup works with your avatar when you layer it.  During the course of selling makeup, I predicted that a lot of things about makeup IRL would also be true in Second Life.  Did you know light skins cannot wear the same makeup as dark skins in-grid?  Depending on the transparency of a tattoo layer, the makeup will favor one shade or the other.  This is something a lot of people don’t know when purchasing makeup packs–so I think information like this, plus some discussion on makeup design period, is worthy of further attention.

That said, here’s a look today: I have new skin from Verve that makes my face look awesome without it looking like everyone else’s, plus some stuff I’ve arranged from my store:

Layered, from bottom to top:

[ a.e.meth ] – Daughter of North Theatrical Makeup (All, tinted pink)
[ a.e.meth ] – Cat Eyeliner (#7, tinted dusty purple)
[ a.e.meth ] – Eye Shimmers (Red)
[ a.e.meth ] – Doll Lashes (these were a gift but I’ll put them back in the store)
[ a.e.meth ] – Tasty Lipgloss (Cherry)

Wha-bow, now I look like a Bat for Lashes groupie.  The magic of Second Life!
